Each year the Maroon Volunteer Center honors students, faculty, and staff for their volunteer commitments during the school year. Several awards are presented for volunteer service completed within the last 12 months, including:

The MSU BIG EVENT is March 30

The MSU Big Event is a one-day service event for the MSU and Starkville community to roll up their sleeves and GIVE BACK. On March 30, the Maroon Volunteer Center will gather student leaders, faculty, staff, and community members to leave their mark on the local community.

Volunteer for MLK Day of Service 2019

January 21, 2019 will mark the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. federal holiday. This milestone is a perfect opportunity for Americans to honor Dr. King’s legacy through service. The MLK Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, creates solutions to social problems, and moves us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a beloved community. The MLK Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the President’s national call-to-service initiative. The Big Event is MSU’s largest one-day service event, where over 1,000 students, faculty, staff, and community members volunteer to make a difference in the local community. We need students that want to grow their skills in leadership, marketing, budgeting, recruitment, project management and more to help make our 2019 Big Event a great success!

Apply to be a Service Site Leader

Want to lead a group of students on Service Dawgs Day? Gain leadership experience while giving back to the local community by leading a group of students, faculty, and staff volunteers to complete one of 35 community service projects during the 2018 Service Dawgs Day on August 20th. Site Leaders serve as the main point of contact for all volunteer teams. Site Leaders also help ensure all volunteer projects are completed and that volunteers are engaged throughout their service experience.
